Opening Day – During the season, teams practice at least once per week and play at least two games per week (except Peanuts, which plays once per week). Players must be committed to their team for the entire season, and not leave for summer vacation until after Championship Day. League schedules attempt to accommodate conflicts such as Outdoor School and holidays.

Official Rules & Supplemental Rules – CVLL is conducted according to official Little League rules published by Little League Baseball Incorporated. CVLL publishes supplemental rules for various divisions to ensure age appropriate regulations are in place. All managers receive a copy of the Little League rule book and the appropriate supplemental rules prior to the season.

CVLL sponsors teams for post-season play from various age groups. Little League sponsored tournaments include Minor (age 10), Major (age 11-12), Junior (age 13-14).  In addition, numerous non-Little League tournaments are available for players age 7 and up.

To be considered for selection to a Little League sanctioned tournament team, a player must have been on the active roster of a CVLL team.  To be eligible for district play, a minimum of 60% of games must be played per LL Rule Book.  Players are selected by the managers of the respective age group in accordance with the CVLL Tournament Team Selection Rules adopted by the Board. Managers may petition to be considered for post-season positions, with selection based on criteria established by the Board.

Post-season play typically begins in June and could extend into August for the most successful teams. Post-season players must be committed to their team for the duration of post-season play, and are expected to decline the invitation to play if conflicts are anticipated, so that other players may have the opportunity to participate. There is a fee to participate, which partially covers the cost of uniforms and one tournament fee for the post season. If the individual teams elect to participate in additional tournaments, the team will share the cost of the entry fee.
